An incredibly thorough, detailed, well written, and well organized summary of the work of Buckminster Fuller.
This book is supposed to lend clarity to Buckeys Synergetics but I find that it is a difficult read for me. Perhaps someone with a more technical background will find greater clarity of Buckeystown books, bUT for me it is a difficult read.
A lucid exposition of Fuller's work.
Fuller's books can be a little tough for those not familiar with his rather idiosyncratic usage. Amy Edmomdson fixes that quite well. An indispensable guide to an enigmatic mind whose influence should have been much greater that it was.
I tried to make sense of Synergetics I and II on a few occasions in my life. They have always fascinated me, but I could never really make sense of them. Edmondson's book arranges many of the ideas into a progression that makes many of Fuller's ideas vastly more accessible. It's a one-of-a-kind companion to Synergetics.
Buckminster Fuller was an amazing man, Architect, Naturalist, Geometer and Philosopher. But... trying to understand his curious use of english and his treastise on Synergetics is more than a challenge. Amy Edmondson has made the art and science of Synergetics quite clear in this very readable volume.
This book renewed my appreciation for math and geometry. I have to admit, I was a left inspired by the time I finished reading this book.
